The Beginning

The company began in Indiana in 2003 after a group of RV veterans decided that things needed to change in the industry. This group saw many problems in existing models that stemmed back decades. They started on a mission to make improvements in the design and construction of recreational vehicles.

The first Heartland RV was a high-end fifth wheel known as the Landmark®. This rig had an 88-degree turn radius that prevented truck cabs from scraping up against the corners of the RV when making tight turns. The Landmark was an innovative trailer that set an example for the entire industry with its reorganized floor plan that maximized storage space.

Following the success of the first Heartland RV, the Sundance® and Cyclone® were introduced in 2005. These rigs also proved to be popular and innovative. Heartland RVs began to take the industry by storm. The company built a 110,000 square-foot factory space and later an 80,000 square-foot manufacturing facility. 

Heartland RVs have become a staple in the industry. This brand changed the game at a time where other manufacturers stood stagnant.
