After you find your perfect family camper, the next step is to start planning your perfect family vacation! But you owe it to yourself to be creative. Theme parks and beach vacations are great, but why not mix things up a little? Here are a few of our favorite activities, and we know you’ll love them too!

Hiking

It can be tough to get enough exercise, especially when on vacation. Thankfully, hiking can be fun for the whole family. 

Perhaps the word “hiking” conjures up images of rugged adventurers kayaking and climbing mountains, but you can also hike on the pavement! No matter where you go, you can find trails and wilderness areas to explore. You can’t go wrong with the state parks and national parks throughout the country, and a Google search can help you find a lot of other great spots. Be sure to pack good footwear and carry plenty of water!

Geocaching

Geocaching has been around for over two decades and it offers all the thrills of a treasure hunt with a modern spin. You can download a free app on your smartphone and use GPS coordinates to locate hidden containers throughout the world. 

Some caches require seekers to solve puzzles for the correct coordinates and some require travel into some unusual locations. Some geocaches also contain items such as small toys and collectible items that you can keep and you have the option of leaving your own trinket for the next group of explorers to find.

Shopping

Some vacationers find a trip to the outlet malls to be the perfect vacation destination, and you’ll find plenty of flea markets and roadside stands to visit on the road. You never know what you’ll find, and you should be prepared to deal with some shrewd negotiators at many of the shops you visit.

Relaxing

You spend a lot of time on the road, and you immediately have to busy yourself with setting up camp and making dinner. Don’t feel guilty if you want to relax at the campsite.
